We all know Brooklyn Grange as one of our pioneering rooftop farms, whose produce shows up at Roberta’s, Smorgasburg and on plates at fine restaurants citywide. But with its debut in the BBC World Challenge, the Grange is about to dance onto a much bigger stage.
The BBC World Challenge is in search of (read in British accent): “innovative projects or ideas that demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit working for the benefit of the community whilst adopting a responsible approach.” Roight oh, mate! Sounds like Brooklyn Grange to us.
Here’s the the Challenge’s official video on the Grange:
The winning project will receive a $20,000 grant, and the second and third place winners will receive $10,000 each - big stakes for grassroots projects. Brooklyn Grange has made it to the final 12.
Winning will help them ‘grow,’ and who doesn’t want more rooftop farming? To support Brooklyn Grange vote for them here by November 11th. Go Grange!
