No need to be coy here: there’s a little shop opening on Court Street in Cobble Hill, and yes, they have sandwiches and beer. That alone will score them a few Nona visits, but for those of you who have a higher bar, the the spread sounds pretty good too! Van Horn Sandwich Shop opened on Wednesday and Chef Rich Hauckman (he of Roberta’s Pizza and The Commodore acclaim) will be serving up Southern-inspired sandwiches like a buttermilk Fried Chicken with jalapeño-cabbage slaw, a Carolina-style pulled pork sammy, and a veg-friendly Potato-Lettuce-Tomato (P.L.T. – get it?) ensemble. He’ll also be using hyper-local products from Caputo Bakery, Los Paisanos Meat Market, and beer from Kelso Brewery.
The shop is located at 231 Court Street between Baltic and Warren. So, like, we’ll see ya there?
