Saveur.com recently featured some video the Franks of Carroll Gardens iconic Frankie’s Spuntino doin’ up a sautéed zucchini and pasta sandwich.
Pasta? On a sandwich?
Frank Falcinelli: “It’s like putting fries on your burger. You want more than a sandwich but you don’t really want to get into making more than a sandwich, so you wind up eating pasta on the sandwich.”
Frank Castronovo: “Zucchini’s great on a sandwich too, so when you put the two together…”
Frank Falcinelli: “It’s like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.”
