Some of you may be familiar with a deservedly well-hyped Manhattan gastro-pub known as The Spotted Pig. Well, that sow is getting a sister (of sorts) here in Brooklyn. Former Spotted Pig Chef Nate Smith is opening up a new restaurant in Prospect Heights called Dean Street. The menu is loaded with the same sort of rustic fare as SP (bacon cheeseburger!), and although it’s not meant to be a clone, Smith says he doesn’t mind the comparison. It should be noted that Smith, a long time Brooklyn resident, has collaborated with some of our favorite local cooks including the pie-tastic Elsen sisters of Four & Twenty Blackbirds. Can’t wait to see what else he brings back to the ‘hood!
