Looking for some food-related fun this weekend? Here are some suggestions for you:

Farmers Markets: Various times, all weekend. Visit your Brooklyn Greenmarkets this weekend! Get out and find glorious seasonal produce from local farmers. You can find all Brooklyn locations here, and be sure to check back on NonaBrooklyn Friday through Sunday for updates directly from the farmers!

The Mighty Flea: Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 5pm. As always, you can find some of Brooklyn’s best artisanal food at Brooklyn Flea. Don’t forget to stop by on Saturday in Ft. Green (Lafayette b/n Clermont and Vanderbilt) and Sunday at One Hanson Place (near 4th Ave and Atlantic).

Volunteer Day with BK Farmyard: Saturday, July 17, 2010: “A volunteer day on a 1-acre lot of the High School for Public Service. Come help work on the farm and bring some food to share! 10am to 3pm, Youth Farm at High School for Public Service, 600 Kingston Avenue.”

Eagle Street Rooftop Farm Seminar: Growing in Unusual Places – Do it Yourself: Sunday July 18, 2-3pm. From your altitude-enhanced agriculturalists: “If New York City wants to feed itself (or at least try to), we’re going to need some soil-free ways to grow food. Meet the growers who are turning every rooftop, window space, and studio apartment into a produce paradise. We’ll be joining the experts from Bright Farms System, Future Gardens Project, and Window Farms this Sunday.”

Stinky/Tasting Table – 6 Flights, 6 Beers, 6 Cheeses: Garden Edition – Sunday July 18, 1-5pm. From the StinkyBKLYN crew: “We are very excited to team up with Tasting Table for this most memorable event and delectable treat. Is your mouth watering yet?? 6 carefully selected beers perfectly paired with their cheesy counterparts. How about now? Smith Street Bastille Day Celebration: Sunday July 18th, 11am – 8pm. Smith Street will be covered in sand to host America’s largest pétanque tournament (a French game similar to bocce). French enthusiasts can enjoy pastis cocktails ($5) and a selection of wines ($6) while cheering on more than 80 international teams. Sandwiches ($6) and other munchies will be provided by Bar Tabac. Soda Making Class: Monday, July 19th, 6:30 – 8pm. P&H Soda founder Anton Nocito teaches you the basics of making homemade pop with seasonal ingredients.
