Greetings Nona world! Each week, we dish out a deal via our newsletter to our members, but sometimes the restaurants and shops want to spread the love. This week our friends at The Vanderbilt wanted us to share the details–this won’t always be the case, so be sure to sign up to get “Nona-fied” when your favorite local chef or food artisan has a deal.

Weekdays through next Thursday, July 1st (that’s Th-F this week and M-Th next week), just mention NONA and get a free appetizer for your table with happy hour drinks at The Vanderbilt from 5 – 7pm. The Vanderbilt (570 Vanderbilt Avenue at Bergen St, Prospect Heights) is the recent creation of Ben Daitz and Saul Bolton (chef/owner of Saul on Smith Street). Like its predecessor, The Vanderbilt offers a selection of unique and seasonal food, but does so in ‘tapas’ style fashion with small- to medium-sized plates. Nona’s favorites? Blistered Shishito Peppers, House-Smoked Kielbasa, and Steamed Bouchot Mussels. But believe us, they are ALL worth trying.

With one round of drinks, pick a dish from the selection of lighter $4 appetizers. Better to relax and stay a while…with two rounds, you can pick any appetizer you like. Pair your picks with $4 Sixpoint drafts, $5 wines, and $6 cocktails. Not a bad way to start the night…
