Event: Beer Table 1000-Day Anniversary Party
Park Slope’s beloved Beer Table is 1000 days old! “To celebrate, we’re hosting a special “BT-1000″ happy hour this Friday, October 22nd. Stop by between 3 and 7 pm for a selection of special drafts and complimentary oysters to accompany them. We’ll be pouring special treats from the cellar all night, so even if you can’t make the happy hour, stop by anyway!”

Event: School Food Rocks Conference

The event, hosted by City Council member Brad Lander, will focus on what it takes to start school gardens, implementing salad bars and healthy menus in schools, and improving recycling. Event: Smith Street Soup Festival
The air has turned crisp, the leaves are changing, we’re switching from white wines to red and we’re ready for soup. Seersucker, Verde, Lunetta, Bar Tabac and 17 other local chefs will be slinging their soups along Smith St. between Atlantic and Carroll. Event: Blue Marble Bash
Blue Marble is bidding farewell to their Atlantic Avenue location with an all day party on Sunday. Pumpkins and kid-friendly activities will fill the day, and the evening will feature a fundraiser for their Rwanda project, featuring celebrity scoopers Billy Crudup, Sarah Paulson, Cherry Jones, Michael Showalter, Dylan Baker and more. Bike Taco Tour
BrooklynbyBike is hosting another taco tour this weekend. The bike ride leaves Grand Army Plaza at 11am and will travel through Brooklyn and Queens before ending up in Williamsburg. They’ll be stopping for some of the best, authentic tacos in the boroughs throughout the day.

Sunday, October 24 at 11am. Departing from Grand Army Plaza. No fee – you pay for your tacos.

Rooftop Kite and Taco Fest
If you’d rather fly a kite than ride a bike on Sunday, stop by Eagle Street Rooftop Farm in Greenpoint. The Farm is hosting a Kite Flight party with the Rockaway Tacos crew. Stop by, enjoy the view, fly a kite, and have some of the finest tacos around. Their Farmers Market and Kite Party run from 9am-4pm. Rockaway Tacos will be serving up their works of art from noon-4pm.

Hop Talk
“On Monday, October 25th, Jack Algiere (a farmer from the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture) will speak at Beer Table from 7-8:30 PM, telling his tales of hop-growing and discussing his work at Stone Barns.” Attendees will taste a variety of beers that highlight particular hop varietals during Jack’s presentation. The talk will be followed by Beer Table’s Monthly Homebrewer’s Meetup.

Event: 6th Annual Casserole Contest at Brooklyn Kitchen
Emily Farris, author of “Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff for Your Oven,” hosts her 6th annual Casserole Party at the Brooklyn Kitchen on Monday. Strict rules apply to this event, foremost being that you must actually bring a homemade casserole, and you must register by Saturday, October 23 (tomorrow). Beer will be served by The Brooklyn Brewery.

Added Value Benefit Dinner at iCi

iCi restaurant is hosting a benefit dinner for Added Value’s Red Hook Farm on Wednesday, October 27. Proceeds go to help the farm rebuild after being devastated in the recent hailstorm.
