Oktoberfest on Governor’s Island
The folks from Mean Red are bringing an Oktoberfest extravaganza to Governor’s Island on Saturday. The fest will feature loads of local and German craft brews and food from some of Brooklyn and Manhattans finest artisanal outfits. There’s no charge to enter the event, but in an effort to manage the crowds, a limited number of writsbands are available, so arrive early. Details here.
Saturday, October 9 from noon-5pm at Colonel’s Row on Governor’s Island
Added Value will kick off its week-long celebration of the harvest season with a Food Flotilla – transporting crops with kayaks from their Governors Island farm to their home base in Red Hook. “Give our expert boaters a rousing send-off at the ferry dock on Governors Island or a big welcome in Red Hook at Valentino Pier at the end of Coffey Street. Tell your friends that right here in NYC, we’re growing food on an island and getting it home by boat, and their support is needed!” We’re sure all those Oktoberfest revelers will help with the rousing send-off.
Saturday, October 9. Arriving at Governor’s Island Ferry Terminal around noon
