Brooklyn Night Bazaar
The Bazaar returns, this time to a warehouse in Williamsburg. In addition to three nights of live music and dozens of independent vendors, there’s a formidable food lineup that includes Bon Chovie, Bootleg Farms, Littleneck, I8NY, Pie Corps, Purple YamEagle Street Rooftop FarmBrooklyn Brewery, and Brooklyn Winery. Winter Solstice Feast
Toast to the change of seasons at this benefit for the Bushwick Farmers Market at Brooklyn Fire Proof. The fete features a silent auction, live performances, and grub from local restaurants, including Roberta’s, Northeast Kingdom, and Arancini Bros, plus a whole roast pig from Manhattan’s Hurricane Club and brews from Sixpoint. Donations can be made at the door, or make a reservation in advance.

Friday, December 16 from 7pm to midnight at Brooklyn Fire Proof, 120 Ingraham St at Porter Ave (Williamsburg). $20 suggested donation.

Gin & Gingerbread Gowanus Holiday Bash
Get into the holiday spirit with some friendly competition at Littlefield. Bring materials for some collaborative gingerbread house building, (basic supplies will be provided), while sipping on gin-ang-ginger punch, courtesy of Brooklyn Gin. There will also be live music and comedy acts, and food trucks Mexicue and Eddie’s will make an appearance for a savory respite from all the frosting. Get the details here.

Saturday December 17 from 8pm to 1am at Littlefield, 622 Degraw St between 3rd and 4th Aves (Gowanus). $6 or $3 with a can of food or gingerbread house materials.

The Cookie Takedown
The next installment of The Takedowns promises to be a sweet tooth’s paradise when it hits The Bell House next month. You’ll get to sample treats from 30 amateur bakers, and if that weren’t enough, there’ll be an hour of free (spiked) eggnog, courtesy of Bulleit Bourbon. There’s no telling what this year will bring, but past entrants have included brownie batter cookie “dumplings” and bourbon buttercream whoopie pie. Get tickets.

Sunday December 18 at 3pm at The Bell House, 149 7th St between 2nd and 3rd Aves (Gowanus). $15.

North Carolina BBQ Pop-Up
Sycamore welcomes roving pop-up The Fat Beagle and its Carolina-style comfort food. For $20 you get a plate of barbecue and other Southern delights, paired with North Carolina beers. Get more info here.

Sunday, December 18 at 1pm at Sycamore, 1118 Cortelyou Rd between Stratford and Westminster Rds (Ditmas Park). $20.

Latke Festival
Get your fill of another holiday favorite in all its crispy, potatoey glory at this cookoff between some of the city’s best chefs. Competitors include Noah Bernamoff of Mile End, Saul Bolton of The Vanderbilt and Adam Ross of Gold Coast Delicatessen. Judges include Cathy Erway of Not Eating Out In NY, Rachel Wharton of Edible Brooklyn, and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. See the full list of competitors and buy tickets here.
