Since Beekeeping was legalized for the first time in a really long time in New York City last year, local beekeepers have emerged from the shadows to set up hives on rooftops all over Brooklyn.
They shouldn’t have any trouble finding buyers for all that local spring honey that should be coming soon. We’ve been stumbling across more and more Brooklynites searching for the local gold – rumor has it that regularly eating honey made by bees with local pollen can reduce allergy symptoms from local plants.

I am trying to find out where my brother can purchase some locally made honey in Brooklyn, NY. He has severe allergies and we have been told that local honey would help. He is working up there for the next few months and this would be of tremendous help to him. I got some local honey here in Clarksville, TN and have been having a teaspoon each morning in my tea. I have not had to take any allergy pills for the past two weeks and have not had allergy symptoms. I had given my brother some of the honey to take with him to Brooklyn last month when he visited but he says it’s not helping him there. I told him I would do an internet search to try to find some local honey and see if maybe it would be helpful to him while there. I got mine at a local co-op around the corner from my home. Do you know of any stores in Brooklyn where he can purchase locally made honey? Please email me a list of stores preferably in Flatbush or Carnarsie.
