Pok Pok at Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Red-hot spot Pok Pok sets up (temporary) shop in the Brooklyn Night Bazaar as the latest installment in its Mezzanine Restaurant Series. The prix-fixe menu includes signature dishes like Northern Thai curry with pork shoulder and pork belly and charcoal-grilled Chiang Mai sausage. A Holiday Dinner
Supper club i was really, very hungry gets into the spirit of the season with a festive meal for a good cause. The decadent menu includes oyster pie, goose roulade with red cabbage choucroute, rum cake and poached pears, and hot wassails to drink. Best of all, the chefs will use proceeds to prepare and serve a holiday meal to 200 residents of the Rockaways, who are still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Pop-up Bake Sale Fundraiser
Dumbo bakery Almondine was hit badly by Sandy, so this weekend, a dozen of the city’s best bakeries and pastry chefs are teaming up to help one of their own. BakedDominique Ansel, Cannelle Patisserie and many others will be selling their best cakes, pastries, chocolates and all manner of sweets, and all proceeds will go directly toward Almondine chef and owner Hervé Poussot’s rebuilding costs. The Food Experiments Best Bite National Championship
Cookoff fans, this is your Super Bowl. The Food Experiments crew has been traveling around the country with its ingredient-themed throwdowns, and now they’re bringing the audience winners from each city for a finale battle royale at Brooklyn Brewery. There are no rules this time—each amateur chef is challenged to create the “best bite.” Tickets include tastings of all 20 competitors’ dishes, plus unlimited Brooklyn Brewery beer. Get them here.

Holiday Bread with Roberta’s

Mable’s and Fairstreet Launch Party
Williamsburg joint Mable’s Smokehouse will soon bring its ‘cue on the road with a brand-new mobile smoker, and they’re celebrate with a night of (what else) barbecue and fixin’s, Brooklyn Brewery beer, and a screening FairStreet‘s short film about the project. The price includes a “mini Mable’s menu,” plus unlimited Mary’s Maple Porter and other brews, and a portion of sales support Hurricane Sandy relief. Grab a ticket here.

Flight Night: Allagash Brewing Company
Head to Sycamore for an evening with Portland, Maine’s Allegash, New England’s original Belgian style brewery. Their ever-popular White (wheat beer) will be available, along with three rarer selections: Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Ale, Curieux (Jim Beam barrel aged Triple), and Fluxus (French style bier de garde). Stop by for a flight of all four anytime in the afternoon and evening.

Gingerbread House Making At The Farm on Adderley
Red icing colored with beet juice! Green icing colored with chlorophyll! No corn-syrup in the candies! Dried fruit!! It’s The Farm on Adderley’s 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Making party, and this year they’re doing it twice – once at Hootenanny Art House in Park Slope, and once at home at The Farm in Ditmas Park.
