If there’s a knock on CSAs in our area it’s that the selection gets pretty limited from November through May. But that’s the point right? CSAs deliver fresh local produce days after it’s harvested. Now, if you’re craving local produce in the cold dark heart of winter, Winter Sun Farms has a solution: they’re offering local produce grown by small regional farmers, year round. How? By freezing the produce shortly after it’s harvested in the spring, summer and fall, they’re able to maintain peak flavor (if not exactly freshness) while supporting local farmers and sustainable practices.
